Conversation Club

Conversation Club offers 10 weekly, theme-based project-oriented activities that focus on social and communication skills for individuals with developmental disabilities. Participants will have individualized goals in the areas of conversation, nonverbal communication, and social interaction. In each session, participants complete motivating and interactive planning projects with peer mentors (UT undergraduate students) under the instruction of graduate student clinicians. Sample activities include: making a Harlem Shake video, critiquing art at the Blanton Museum, and cooking.

PROJECT SKILLS: Parent Training Course for Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

PROJECT SKILLS is an 8-week program serving the families of children who have a recent diagnosis of ASD. Training introduces parent intervention specific vocabulary such as joint attention, communicative temptations for language development, expansion of child utterances, modeling appropriate language, and symbolic pretend play.

Training includes one 2-hour introductory group session and seven 1-hour individual sessions
*ZOOM video-conferencing is available for families who cannot travel to UTSHC

Times: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10:00 AM -6:00 PM
(Register below for specific weekly time.)
Cost: No cost for eligible Texas residents; $600 for eligible non-Texas residents

Project PLUS (Presentations on Learning Unique Skills)

Project PLUS is a webinar series aimed at providing information to families on topics related to Autism Spectrum Disorders. We will be offering a total of 18 webinars on different topics that can be viewed at a time of your choosing. Families can register for one or for all of the webinars- there are no restrictions on the number of webinars chosen for viewing. The webinars are recorded and families will be able to view them from any device of their choice.
