The Audiology practicum involves participation in hearing evaluations, including otoscopy and pure tone testing. Practicum students also learn how to take clinical interviews, analyze test results, write clinical reports, and function as a member of the Audiology Team.
Students with the following credentials may apply for the Undergraduate Honors Practicum.
A completed application will include the application form, semester schedule (semester for which you are applying for practicum), statement/letter of interest, and unofficial transcript.
Applications should be returned to the Undergraduate Advisor by the posted deadline.
Interviews may be conducted.
If chosen to participate in practicum, the student will register for a three hour undergraduate course, CSD 378K.
The student will participate in all aspects of the practicum including, but not limited to, attendance at clinical meetings, observation of diagnostics/treatment, participation in diagnostics/treatment, etc.
If the student attends the University of Texas for graduate school, having participated will in no way exempt her/him from participating in practicum at the graduate level.
Participation in the Undergraduate Practicum Program does not imply admission into graduate school at University of Texas.

The student will participate in all aspects of the team including, but not limited to, attendance at team meetings, observation of treatment/diagnostics, participation in treatment/diagnostics, etc.
If the student attends the University of Texas for graduate school, having participated will in no way exempt her/him from participating on the same team at the graduate level.

Supervised individual research. Individual instruction. With consent of the department chair, may be repeated, but only three hours may count toward a degree in the college of communication.
Prerequisite: Eighteen semester hours of coursework in communication sciences and disorders, a University grade point average of at least 2.50, a grade point average in all College of Communication coursework of at least 3.00, and approval of a project in advance of registration.
