Clinical Research Opportunities for the UT Graduate Student Population

Graduate students will be provided the opportunity:

  1. To earn additional clinical hours that can be applied toward their total requirement for graduation
  2. To develop, complete, and submit for publication their own research project
  3. To be inspired to pursue their doctorate and to acquire the skills to do so:

  • Students will be provided the opportunity to increase their confidence in their skills as a researcher which will in turn increase the amount of graduate students who decide to stay at UT to pursue their doctorate.
  • For those students who are inspired through participation in ACSIR to pursue their doctorate but choose to go to another school, the quality of the research experience gained through their participation in this program will set them apart from other doctoral candidates and serve to further enhance the national reputation of the UT graduate program.
  1. To participate in the ACSIR annual student research conference:
  • Students will have the opportunity to present in poster format the research they completed and will have the opportunity to win a $500 travel award to allow them to attend and present their research at a national conference.
  1. To mentor undergraduate students:
  • Each graduate student in the ACSIR program will have the opportunity to be assigned to be a mentor for 1 to 2 undergraduate students.
