Dana is proud to say she has been with 'The University' for almost thirty years. She serves as the Graduate Program Coordinator in the CSD Graduate Office. Dana acts as the liaison between students, faculty, clinical faculty and staff. She provides information and advice to graduate students on all aspects of the program and the University, from application for admission to graduation and alum status. She maintains an open, friendly office environment in which graduate students feel welcome and receive assistance with their various questions and problems concerning their academic lives. She's better known as the 'Mother Hen' for the Department and loves interacting with students with respect to their academic lives as well as their personal lives. She is also recognized for intuitively knowing when a hug is needed.
Dana enjoys meeting prospective students either on campus during our fall 'CSD Info Day' or while recruiting annually at the American Speech and Hearing Association Convention. She also attends and presents annually at the National Academic Advisors Association Conference on topics such as minority recruitment and advising graduate and professional students. She has been recognized as one of the co-founders of the Graduate Coordinator Network here on the UT Austin campus, which provides a forum for those advising graduate students.
Ms. Woolf has been honored as the recipient of the UT Graduate School Outstanding Graduate Program Coordinator Award, Graduate Coordinator Network Outstanding Service Award, College of Communication Staff Excellence Award, College of Communication Staff Merit Award and other various recognitions. She also serves as Chair or as a member on many focus groups within the UT community.
