Melissa D. White, M.A., CCC-SLP, recently began as a clinical faculty supervisor for the UTSHC in August of 2006. She holds a B.A. in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Michigan State University and a M.A., in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Melissa participated in the Bilingual Training Grant, where she received training in the area of Multicultural Communication Disorders with a bilingual (Spanish) emphasis. She has primarily worked with culturally and linguistically diverse school age children with various communication disorders in Illinois, Nevada and Texas. Melissa has done several presentations on Latino/bilingual issues in speech and language pathology and taught two graduate level courses on multicultural issues and communication disorders (St. Xavier University and Northern Illinois University).
