Joan M. Balash, M.A., is the audiology coordinator of the Speech and Hearing Center. Additional responsibilities include clinical supervision in all areas of audiology, with special interests in the evaluation of infant hearing sensitivity, counseling issues with hearing-impaired persons, and clinical research. Prior to her appointment to the Department in 1990, Ms. Balash was the audiologist at the Austin State School.
