Jan Moore, Ph.D., joined the faculty in August 2001, after working for several years at the University of Iowa. Dr. Moore has degrees in both Audiology (Ph.D., University of Illinois) and Speech-Language Pathology (M.A., Purdue), and is certified in both areas. She has conducted research and written extensively in the area of speech and language development and disorders in children with hearing impairments, with particular emphasis on children with cochlear implants. Dr. Moore has joined our audiology faculty group, and will teach courses in such areas as aural habilitation and rehabilitation, hearing aids, and related areas. Her publications have appeared in The Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research, the Journal of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, Ear and Hearing, and elsewhere. In 1997 and 1999 she won ASHA Awards for Continuing Education, and in 2000, she was the recipient of an Academic Technologies Teaching Improvement Award for the development of web-based sign language instruction.
