Step 3 Contact your undergraduate institution to submit your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS to the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC), UT Austin, P.O. Box 7608, Austin, TX 78713-7608.
Step 4 Arrange for the Educational Testing Services (ETS) to submit your OFFICIAL SCORE for the Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE). The ETS code for UT Austin is 6882.
Step 5 International students should arrange for the Educational Testing Services (ETS) to submit your OFFICIAL SCORE for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Step 6 Electronically submit (cut & paste) your Statement of Purpose on the Graduate and International Admissions online application. (one page overall-single space)
Step 7 Submit THREE letters of reference - Ask individuals providing references to submit letters electronically at the official link provided to them by the Office of Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC). If your recommender chooses to mail their letter of reference, then it must be mailed to the following address: Graduate and International Admissions Center, UT Austin, P.O. Box 7608, Austin, TX 78713-7608.
The electronic reference form is preferred, so please encourage your recommenders to use this method if possible. If letters of reference are mailed to the CSD Graduate Office, then those will be forwarded immediately to the Office of Graduate and International Admissions (GIAC). It is in your best interest to provide letters of reference through the electronic version to the Office of Graduate and International Center (GIAC) in order to meet the required CSD deadlines.
Letters are preferred from faculty in Communication Sciences and Disorders with whom you have taken courses and/or worked on research projects are the most helpful to our admission committees. Letters from employment supervisors are accepted but from those supervisors who work in CSD or a related field. We really do need to receive at least some input from academic faculty with whom you have worked. Faiure to provide all three letters of reference may result in your application NOT going to review with our admissions committees.
Step 8 Complete and submit the CSD Graduate Applicant Prerequisites Form (PDF – get Adobe Acrobat Reader) by the required CSD DEADLINE DATE. Failure to complete and submit this form with CSD may prevent you from establishing a data record in our CSD Graduate Office and your application from going to review with our admissions committee.
